A Jubilee for the Church

In Scripture, Jubilee is far more than a celebration—it is God's invitation to renewal.

Rooted in Leviticus 25, Jubilee grows out of Israel's rhythms of Sabbath, rest, and the memory of God's deliverance. Every fiftieth year, God's people were called to restore what had been broken, reconcile relationships, release burdens, and trust once again in God's abundant provision.

As the Christian Church in the Southwest marks the 50th anniversary of our first Regional Assembly in 1976, we believe Jubilee offers us more than a milestone to celebrate. It offers a vision for who God is calling us to become.

As we gather in Fort Worth, we will worship together, learn from one another, strengthen our fellowship, and make important decisions about the future of our shared Region.

Together, we are invited to Restore. Relate. Revive.

A Historic Moment for the Region

One of the most significant moments of Regional Assembly 2026 will be the consideration, and vote, of a proposed new CCSW Regional Design.

The Regional Design serves as the governing document that shapes how our Region organizes its ministry, leadership, governance, and shared life together.

Following months of prayer, listening, collaboration, and discernment, a draft has been prepared for consideration.

Everyone is encouraged to review these resources before arriving in Fort Worth:

The Road to Quorum

This year's Regional Assembly includes a vote on the new Regional Design.

For that vote to take place (and count), we must have a quorum of voting delegates present.

That means every congregation plays an important role.

If your congregation has not yet selected delegates, now is the time.

By reviewing the proposed Regional Design, sending your delegates, and gathering in Fort Worth, your congregation helps ensure that our Region can faithfully conduct its business and discern God's future together.

To reach quorum, we need:

2. C.A.R.E. (Clergy Anti-Racism Education)

Rooted in Howard Thurman's Jesus and the Disinherited, this six-hour experience equips ministers to engage anti-racism as an essential practice of Christian discipleship.

Participants will reflect theologically, hear stories from clergy serving throughout the Southwest, and explore practical ways to cultivate beloved community.

⛪ Springs of Life Christian Church

Invest In Relationships, Not Buildings: Most churches spend at least a quarter of their budget maintaining their  physical structure, but is that the best use of our limited resources?  Pastor Larry Gipson of Springs of Life, a new church in San Marcos, shares how his congregation has chosen to invest in the body of Christ through relationship building rather than a physical building.

🌈 Galileo Church

QueerQuest is a Dungeons & Dragons community hosted by Galileo Church to combat loneliness, resist oppression, and create joy for LGBTQ+ and neurodiverse players. The benefit to the church is not “butts in pews” but a repair of reputation among people who have good reason to resist our institutional welcome.
