Bob Williams Elected to Christian Church Foundation Board
INDIANAPOLIS, IN – Bob Williams, a member of Warren Avenue Christian Church in Dallas, TX, has been elected for a three-year term to the Board of Directors of the Christian Church Foundation.
“We are pleased Bob has agreed to serve the wider church in this important role, and we look forward to the wisdom and love for the church that he will bring,” said the Rev. Gary W. Kidwell, Foundation president. “As a lifelong Disciple and a respected businessman, he has the core competencies the church needs in making sure we have a strong Foundation in perpetuity.”
Williams’ term will begin in 2010. He will join about 25 other Disciples laypersons and clergy with the fiduciary responsibility for the Foundation, the general ministry of the Christian Church that deals with permanent funds and investment of church-owned endowments.
The Christian Church Foundation is based in Indianapolis. It helps undergird Disciples ministries through permanent funds and investment of permanent funds owned by church institutions and ministries. In 2009, the Foundation is responsible for $314 million of the church’s money in permanent funds and investment accounts.
